The Cameron Bayliss Swept Away Project

The Song 'SWEPT AWAY'

The Birth of 'Swept Away'

Cameron Bayliss started writing the song 'Swept Away' after watching the horrific and heartbreaking Tsunami footage on television. He wrote down a basic concept of the song and then shelved the song for a little while as he was overwhelmed with emotion each time he tried to write the lyrics. He started to compose and produce the music for 'Swept Away' in his private studio whilst watching an episode of the OPRAH Show (He loves the Big O) where Nate Berkus - a personal hero of Cameron's was on the show.

Nate Berkus, a very talented interior designer and beautiful person was tragically caught up in the Tsunami and was on the OPRAH Show talking about his devastaing experiance. Nate's Partner Fernando, an inspiring photographer, was unfortunately killed by the Tsunami while they were holidaying together in Arugam Bay in Sri Lanka. Cameron watched the show listening to every word, heartbroken and in a state of shock and disbelief that something so cruel could happen to a person he respect's and admires so lovingly.

Immediately after watching that OPRAH Show, Cameron sat down and wrote within 15 minutes the lyrics to the song which we all know as 'Swept Away'. The music for the song was also composed and produced on that exact same day. Cameron believes there was an unforseen hand guiding him to write the song that day and credits that miracle to Nate and his partner Fernando who will be forever in Cameron's heart and mind each time he hears the song played.

Once again OPRAH Winfrey through the magic of her television show has inspired someone to live their best life and do all they can to help make the world a greater and brighter place for us all to live.

THE RECORDING

On the 18th of November 2005, Cameron watched in amazement as the song 'Swept Away' was recorded by talented Singer/Songwriter Jenelle Lawrence. The recording of the song was a special day in Cameron's life and he will cherish the memory of watching something he created come to life for many more years to come. Cameron had never met Jenelle before the day of the recording and hired her to perform the vocals on the track on the advice of Jennifer from Bignote Productions - the recording studio where Cameron has recorded many times. The instant that Cameron met Jenelle he knew that a higher power was directing him and the old cliche applies to this situation which is 'It Was Meant To Be'.

Cameron realised on the day of the recording why there was an unforseen hand guiding him to write such a beautiful song and why it was meant to be recorded. Cameron instantly knew that the song he wrote would help the victims of the Asian Tsunami's. He recalls the time when he was hit like a lightening bolt with the realisation that the song was meant to be released to the music loving people of the world so they would to feel compelled to help rebuild the lives of many unfortunate souls who suffer tremendously because of the Tsunami's, especially the children.

Cameron can relate to the thousands of children suffering from being abandoned in the world as he too was abandoned and left to fend for himself from a very young age. He believes that no child on a global level should ever have to suffer, should always have the warmth of love and always be protected and made to feel safe without the fear of lonliness. On the day of when 'Swept Away' was recorded Cameron vowed that he would make a difference in the lives of the many children who were left alone because of the Tsunami and with the beautiful song he has written, there is absolutley no doubt that this inspiring Singer/Songwriter will achieve that goal.
