THE REASON On the 26th of December 2004, a series of Tsunami's devestated parts of Asia, killing thousands of people, destroying entire towns, villages and the lives of so many people from around the Globe. The Asian Tsunami's remain the worst natural disaster in history that changed the face of the planet and the world we live in forever.
Time stood still as the world watched the horrific and heartbreaking images that were played repeatedly on our television screens. Mothers were desperately searching and crying in vain for their lost children, Fathers, Wives and Husbands frantically searched for their families and loved ones. People yearning for a familiar face were left heartbroken at the realisation that the only time that they would see their cherished loved ones again was in the heart and soul of their precious memories.
Countless children were left screaming to the heavens above in the hope that their parents or a member of their family would come along at any second to sweep them up in their protective arms and make them feel safe once again. The children prayed over and over again that someone would shield them from the pain, fear and terror overwhelming thier innocent and tiny souls. Days passed and those same children who were abandoned by the cruel hand of nature were still searching for someone to hold them, love them and tell them that everything was going to be o.k and not to be afraid.
Today, those same children with no-one to protect and love them still live with the hope that they will see their parents and families again. The children are to young to understand that Fate took their loved ones away abandoning and making them orphans in a world where children need the protection, love and warm hugs when ever they feel cold and lonely.
The people living in the areas devestated by the Tsunami's will forever be rebuilding their lives in the hope that they will restore their communities to the beautiful and harmonious place that means so much to them. Every single person from around the world who has ever visited their majestic and magical shores know the endearing spirit of the people who have so much to offer the world but have now lost everything. The loving people who suffered the tragedy of the Tsunami's have lost their families, livlihoods and everything they held close to their heart's. Thousands of children are living in the streets without a family to call their own and their world will never be the same again.
The reason for 'The Cameron Bayliss Swept Away Project' is to help rebuild the lives of so many people who deserve our love and attention. We are so lucky to live in a world where we have a place to call home, people to care about us and are able to live lives of our wildest dreams. The people who have suffered so much due to the world's largest natural disaster just want to smile again...Even if it is only for a brief moment in time.
